The Perris Valley African American History Committee (PVAAHC) was formed in 1995 as a subcommittee of the Perris Valley Arts and Activities Committee. In January 1999, PVAAHC obtained nonprofit status, solidifying our commitment to the community. Initially, we focused on special events like February Black History Month Forums, historical bus tours, and field trips

Engage, Enhance, Empower

o PVAAHC was established in response to a growing need to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of African Americans to the local community and beyond. What began as a small group of passionate individuals has blossomed into a vibrant organization dedicated to promoting cultural awareness and historical education. By February 2000, we launched the Black History Parade and Expo, which has evolved into our annual Peace and Unity Walk and Black History Expo.
